Bumgardner created the master plan that won a competition to develop an affordable housing community on 22 acres in Woodinville, Washington. Nearly half the site was maintained as a wetland. The mix of rental and fee-simple housing includes senior apartments, bungalow-court cottages, townhomes and single-family “cluster” homes. The homes surround a central park and community center and are linked by a trail through the preserved wetlands.
The project received the “Livable Future Award” from 1000 Friends of Washington.
