In a setting that is comfortable and supportive of the fishing industry, the Fisherman’s Terminal places the fascinating working waterfront, and the home of Ballard’s fishing fleet, within reach of the public. The 63,700 square foot mixed-use facility houses a variety of restaurants, shops and offices that cater to the fisherman and the Ballard Community, as well as the greater Seattle area.
The project received an Honor Award from AIA Seattle and the national nonprofit organization, Waterfront Center, in Washington, D.C.
“The design of Fishermen’s Center seeks to avoid upstaging the colorful activities associated with the fishing boats. Its scale, form, and use of materials are consistent with the character of older, industrial shed structures on the site.”
